BACK-ON – Traumatic | Lyrics, Romaji, LRC

Traumatic is the other B-side track on the recently released wimp ft. Lil’ Fang (from FAKY) single by BACK-ON and is definitely one of our Forum Member’s favourite songs from the release (SC!)

A high-energy track with some kick-a** dubstep as the instrumental bridge, the band composed the song sometime ago, and included it on the single as a ‘dark’ contrast to the other two tracks, wimp ft. Lil’ Fang (from FAKY) and Around the world, both of which are tie-ins with the Gundam series with positive messages. TEEDA explained the band had put in a lot of unsaid feelings into Traumatic  during a recent interview with LisAni! and we have included the original quote here for reference purposes (as it was tricky for us to fully understand what was said so we would welcome any corrections):

Interviewer: カップリングの曲についてもお聞きしたいのですが、「Traumatic」はまた「wimp ft. Lil’ Fang (from FAKY)」とは方向性が違う曲ですよね。

TEEDA:　「Traumatic」って実は結構前に出来ていた曲なんです。BACK-ONってポジティブな曲が多いんですけど、モヤモヤした気持ちから抜け出せないということを歌った曲ですね。「Traumatic」は、もうちょっと自分たちの濃い部分を入れてもいいんじゃないかっていう部分もあって。このCDの中でBACK-ONってポジティブだけじゃないんだぜって言いたかったり、『ガンダム』のバンドでしょ？　って言われたくない部分もあったりと、いろいろな気持ちがあって入れた曲ですね。

Some things of note whilst romanising the lyrics:

• サイレン = siren
• アクション = action
• 永久 = eternity = usually pronounced ‘eikyu’ but ‘towa’, a more abstract pronunciation is used
• We added the lyrics for the ‘bridge’ part where KENJI03 repeats ‘flash back’ to the romaji, karaoke and LRC lyrics
