I'm going to Japan in July for a couple of weeks. We're doing a homestay so I'm going to have to cram before the trip. I can sing but inconsistently. I have practically no immune system so I get coughs often which makes your range limited and your voice sound like crap. You all would probably like Korean pop and Russian techno. I know I do ^^

In reference to Japanese, I know survival stuff and a tinny bit of the more complex stuff. A friend of mine is helping me learn particles, kanji and some vocab. With some good cramming I might be able to at least hold a simple conversation while I'm there.

Hmmm. I would say you would need a good singing voice, whether or not you actually sound good singing. You definitely need good vocal technique and obviously good breath control. Its skillful to be able to rap fast and clearly.
