BOO+Forums FIRST BIRTHDAY! :D

Just thought I'd create a brand new thread! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! A big thank you to everyone for celebrating it with us today, especially those who have sent in fan submissions! We'll be showcasing everything over today and over the next few days (to prevent overload) as well as releasing some special new media that most will have never seen/heard before!

Thank you everyone for helping the community to grow. I would like to be very selfish and cheesy/corny at this point and say that together: we have really really helped Back-on become more well known internationally!

I am in the middle of drafting a post about the whole site. Alas I'm afraid I must apologise and say the new site layout will be delayed because I'm very much behind schedule in this regard so am sorry to disappoint everyone, but I promise to release a few preview screenshots in a few days.

Last but not least: a massive thank you to Sowon for setting up the forums in the first place! If it were not for his fantastic idea and constant presence on the forums, I don't think we'd be here today!

Of course, have to thank the early members (and current members) for their contribution towards the growth of this community (I'm really proud to be a part of it A special thanks to the people who have really stuck it out with us, particularly in the last couple of months when I was AWOL Ichiban, ookami. Jace, Tsubame, aoi dink, alacrana, sesshy, faust. peaze. lesboys, storm etc. I would love to name alot more people here (expect edits) but my brain is a bit full at the moment!

This is not to say that our early members are not credited too! I have happy memories of blabbering with SoundEx, Riliont, Rynn, Max, John. twisted, funbari etc. to mention a few. I really hope they'll be coming back to say hi at some point!

And there is an end to my blurb, it's here! Thanks everyone again and hope you enjoy everything that is to come!

Some of it has just made it online! Gomen, everyone for the downtime! I totally didn't expect it either >_< I only realised something was wrong when I tried to upload something and it didn't work on FTP.

The downtime has been for about 2 hours and such, but at quite a key time (especially for those in Asia/Europe) Hope you all don't mind so much! Unfortunately I did lose some of my edited work so will have to write that out again.

------- NEW FORUM THEME -------
We've been talking about launching a new forum theme for the birthday, and this is the new one! ^^ It's a huge change from our previous dark layout (known as Black Rose) with an automatically rotating banner system! This will allow members to submit their work for display, and the shiny black/blue one that you see is by Sesshy! More information later, but hope you like it, let us know what you think!

FORUM BANNER (updated 11/05/08)
We have three submissions for this category! The first one is from Sesshy and that is the shiny new blue/black banner that you see rotating around on our new forum header! You can see a thumbnail of the banner below (click on the link for the full header!)




The second is by Ookami, which features all the album/single covers that Back-on have ever released! Also with an inspired 'sand' theme meandering it's way through their work! We've also included a thumbnail below, but as with Sesshy's banner, they are both best viewed in full.



The third was sent in just recently by Sesshy! It was completely out of the blue, but it also blew me away as well! This is (i think) from the photoshoot of flower, but has been superbly enhanced!



COMICS AND MANGA
We have two sets of submissions for this category, which we've uploaded to the Gallery - Fanart - Comics section! We aim to showcase the work on our main website when the new theme is launched, but more news of that later!

1. The Warrior by Dean
Dean braved a particularly nasty cold/flu to create the first pages of a fan series The Warrior! You can see a thumbnail of the first page below! Click on the link to read the (currently 4 page) comic in full!


I can't wait to find out who the secret character is, and how Back-on will come into it, but you can find two profile documents of the manga characters below! (Large file-size) warning) Hopefully Dean will start a new thread about his manga, so we can find out more about the background story.

2. Comic 2 - BACK-ON - Busted! by Sesshy
You'll probably already have seen Sesshy's first comic Cooking with Kenji03 which she posted in January this year, and this is now the second installment of her comic series! We've included the two thumbnails below, which you can click on to see in full!





I'm hoping that more will be released soon (rather than a 3-month gap ) because I'm quite taken by the idea that Kenji03 does a fair bit of cooking. If he actually did do a show on cable, I'd definitely be the first 10 subscribers to the channel!


FAN VIDEOS
There was a surprise (huge!) submission for this category (I had personally thought it would take up too much time ) but XxfaustxX actually found the time to create this fan music video to Back-on's song Chain! I've included the Youtube version of the video below, but it is DEFINITELY WORTH watching the close-to-original version at Veoh.com by going here:

The video showcases all sorts of photos related to Back-on, and I was really impressed by how everything came together at the right moments for the music. It probably takes the prize for the first dedicated fan video made for Back-on me thinks! Enjoy!

WALLPAPER
A submission for this category (surprise!)came by email two days ago (Flick was slow again, gomen!) from ookami (along with the banner - see above) where she has created a wallpaper of BOO fans! View the wallpaper in full by clicking on the link below:



I think the main text is from the entries are from the Anime Matsuri 2007 thread (who can forget that this was Back-on's international debut?) and it really brings back fond memories of last year! A lot of thought has definitely gone into the wallpaper so a big thank you to ookami for her work, and also for ichi for sending it in on her behalf!

FIGHTING STYLE MP3!
As promised, the new media never seen before (well, not to my knowledge anyway)!
This is a song from Back-on's early years (2004/5?) called Fighting Style! We came across the file by accident a little while back on the WWW but alas lost the source website so can't credit it, but I'm fairly certain it's an mp3 from one of the first demo cds to feature Back-on's songs called "MONSTERS ROCK VOL.1"

yeah tnx! since I couldn´t finish the secret char, I will be continueing the story (there is so much more I need to discover in manga studio) plus I will make the secret main character (illustrator crashed yesterday -_-). I'll send it to flick in te coming days( 2morrow or day after).

Also I will start a thread about the manga, since this is the opening and well..guessing the storyline isn't really clear yet . Flick, do u have any ideas where to start the thread?
