Yep... hence we need names of people who read more than 750 posts... at the moment the final milestone is 750... beyond that everyone has the 'same' post group. If you frequent other forums and think they're doing something good with names, please do post

A shout box would be intresting... It wouldnt have stupid time restrictions. Right?

Hmm... good question I've actually already installed it except the way its displayed on the forum looks a little ugly so I'm trying to work out a better way of incorporating it into the forums. For those who are interested - the standard method is using iframes but one would prefer to use divs

I haven't been to a 'status' forum in a while. But I'm apart of Batsu.org (site for a lot of jrock groups). I suppose that might help.

I have to admit I don't know what a 'status' forum is...?

Um... iframes are used to include a page into another page. For instance, in the early days of the web when everyone used basic html, if you had lots of navigation links, everytime you added a new page or changed the url, you would have to change the links on every single page - quite a tiresome task!

Then someone came up with frames, which means you would have one page (let's call it Alpha) with all the navigation links, and then load the content in a (window) frame within Alpha.

Iframes (inline frames) are a bit like frames, but is used by people to put content into certain sections of their main site. If you wanted to insert a shoutbox into Alpha, the easiest way to do this is to use an iframe to load the contents of the shoutbox page - in this way the visitor can scroll through the shoutbox without leaving Alpha.

However, iframes are notwithout their downside (I think its browser compatibility issues and also web standards) and nowadays people have started to use css divs (boxes?) to do the same thing as iframes.
