The aim for us this year? For BOO to become better! :) We definitely have something to look forward to, as BOO will be celebrating its very first birthday very soon! It would be an understatement to say that it has been a brilliant time, where the definite highlight was the opening of the BOO Forums by Sowon in April 2007!

I’ve met some seriously amazing Back-on fans through there, and if you do have some time, I would really encourage you to pay a visit and have a look around! A big thanks must go to the members for their great support, and if you did have any questions about the band (and band members) this is the place to ask as there are lots of experts! :)

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has supported the site in some way or another, whether as a fantastic fellow admin (Sowon) or by providing site content (MJtheOne for the wallpapers, funbari for the lyrics, and guitar chords by Avalonstar12) including the images found in the Gallery (particularly ichiban) and also the special Back-on videos provided by gangangan03, blueblueblue and SoundEX amongst others. Of course the thank you must extend to the many people (who I’m sorry to have not mentioned here) who have made the site so much richer by posting comments and writing about their experiences both on the Forums and the main site. THANK YOU!

And before I forget: THANK YOU, BACK-ON, FOR BEING SO EXTRAORDINARY!

p/s: And for some really yummy news, rumour has it that Back-on will be releasing a brand new single on January 30th 2008. We don’t have much detail to go by at the moment, but will definitely keep you posted! If you would like to follow the latest developments, feel free to read the forum thread about the new release created by slipknot240.

We’ll start with a pretty professional video that was done by PBC Productions promoting Anime USA, and I have to admit I’m tempted to join the event next year. ;) Back-on feature in the clip for a mere 30 seconds (from 3:07) but Chad Williams and his team have helpfully provided translations when Kenji03 talks about his thoughts about how amazing it is to have people (who probably don’t know Japanese) singing along with Back-on‘s lyrics!

The video is available on PBC Productions‘ own website (recommended – see December 7th 2007 entry), or you can follow the ‘More’ link at the bottom to watch the same video on Revver.

Another video that we found (on Youtube) was uploaded by anantech featuring Back-on at their autograph-signing session. As many have already pointed out, the look on Teeda and Kenji03‘s faces when they saw the Wii is priceless :) As with the video above, you can visit Youtube or scroll down to watch it!

Last but not least, photos! The best resource at the moment is actually Anime USA’s official gallery where there are currently 50+ photos of Back-on at their concert performance! One of my most favourite has to be a photo featuring Kenji03:

Teeda is alittle cheeky during the interview ( :D) but it is a really great clip to watch, as they’re all smiling at one point or another, and we also get to watch their full performance of Chain! Thanks Akari and Ichiban!

• a special performance at Ruido K2 on May 10th, especially presented by Icchan
• performing with Airstrike on the second day of their Airstrike presents Airtrip11 – The 2 Days gig at Honnou’s Clove in Chiba on May 13th
• as one of the main bands for GOLDEAD presents UEST SIDE vol.11 HIP ROCK NIGHT-ONE LIFE ONE CHANCE at Nagano Club Junk Box on May 26th

In addition, they also have another gig scheduled for this evening (May 27th 2007) as part of the *massive* Shibuya Jack event, which features 30+ artists including RIZE (Jesse is one of the organisers) and ELLEGARDEN for a dedicated evening of Rock! Back-on will be performing at Club Unity from 20:45 ~ 21:30, wrapping up the evening as the last of the 5 bands at the venue. Shibuya Jack will then continue into the night with an extensive list of DJs performing at various clubs.

I don’t know why I keep leaving the most important part till the last but yes, there is a video!

The next video has been kindly provided by Ichiban (yes, the same Ichi who has shared her pictures in the earlier news posts :D, thanks!) and is a fabulous clip of Kenji03 waving at the camera and giving a little smile *the effect on a fangirl is quite catastrophic actually* :p

Last but not least, instead of a video… we have a shot of a short newspaper article from Japan with the photo that Back-on took with the crowd and some introductory text – havea look below, courtesy of the G-F-S blog. (Find out more about it in the next news post where we tell you more about G-F-S)

I’ll update this post at a later time with more info about the content as well as hopefully an embedded video! :)

Teeda also posted in his blog (in fact, he was the most active in updating on a daily basis :D) where I think he said he was surprised at receiving such a warm welcome in America (which he now really likes!) Teeda noted the fact that alot of cute girls (author’s note: including Ichi, Ookami and Miyu-chan) asked him for an autograph/hugs? ^^ (author’s further note: you lucky lucky people! I so wish I was there!)

On the last day, the Back-on group went for dinner late at night, only to find that the restaurants weren’t open on a Sunday! Ultimately they ended up in Subway (those lucky Subway people!) and all ate a massive American-sized sandwich. The funny thing was that Gori (and someone else?) then said that he still wasn’t full, leaving Teeda and Kenji03 speechless!

Hopefully Back-on will update their blogs with even more info at a later date! They will actually be showing a video at their next show in Shibuya on May 10th 2007, with footage from the entire weekend. Fingers-crossed that they’ll post it online as well!

With regards to other site updates, the Back-on band pages have been updated a little these past few days. Over the next week, the plan is to review old content and try and improve each post. This has already been started, where previous media news posts regarding Youtube videos for PVs and MVs have now been updated from just links to embedded video, so you won’t have to open up a new window to watch the content.

For the last part, I would like to talk about the newly improved Back-on Fan Forum *with thanks to Sowon* There is now a new header as well as a new content structure which should make it easier for everyone to find and post their messages. You can now also embed Youtube videos within your posts!

The first to showcase in today’s post is the 鼓動 (Kodou) PV which is 2:21 minutes long and features a back-drop not unlike the one found in the MV of Chain as well as speakers… you’ll see what I mean when you watch it.

The second is as per the title above – a clip (presumably filmed by a camera phone) of Back-on performing live – supposedly from their December 14th 2006 gig at Club Asia. This video is low quality (as blueblueblue noted in the title of the clip) but is 1:41 minutes of what fans can expect during their gigs: Back-on (specifically Kenji03 and TEEDA) talking to the crowd and getting lots of laughs and positive feedback before launching into the live rendition of アルティメット足立(Aruteimetto Adachi) from the album Adachi Tribe as well as Hero.

This is the first time I’ve watched either video so I’m really excited about this new ‘find’! :) Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! A huge thanks must go to blueblueblue for sharing the videos :)

Its the first opportunity for us to hear the Fk Metal ver. of Hikari Sasuhou!

The clip is only 15 seconds long and there’s a rather loud voice-over, but you can definitely tell that it is indeed a different version of Hikari Sasuhou.
