Keitai Sousakan 7 - First PV/Trailer released!

Following our previous post about Back-on singing the ending theme for the new jdrama Keitai Sousakan 7 (Cellphone Investigator 7/Cellphone Detective 7) we’re happy to announce that the production team have released the first promotional trailer for the series!

KS7- PV - 01 KS7- PV - 02

Alas we don’t get to hear the OP or the ED songs in this 4-minute preview clip, but it does give us a good idea about what the show will be like. As far as I can see, there is definitely some quite high-budget-looking CGI going around (think of the movie: Transformers (2008)) which includes the Phone Braver series characters (There’s at least one evil Phone Braver!) as well as a scary looking digger-truck that threatens the main protagonist at the start and end of the trailer.

KS7- PV - 03 KS7- PV - 04

The news comes courtesy of Affenheimtheater.de, who have cited Ryuganji.net as their source, although the video has been uploaded by tenmusu66 on Youtube. We’ve included the video at the end of this post, but a thank you to the three people above!

Let us know what you think of the PV? I have to admit I’m not convinced that I’ll like it yet, which is a view shared by Todd Brown of Twitch, as well as some commentators on Japan Probe, although trailers can be quite misleading and the series might turn out to be alot better! Either way, we do know that Back-on are practicing hard at their new song Sands of Time (pictures taken by Teeda from their official blog)!

flower single : a glimpse into the extra music clips on the disc

As you may already know, the flower single came with a promise of bonus content: music clips of flower, BLAZE LINE and a day dreaming…. At the time, I was speculating that they may be just short clips, but as it turns out, they are the full music videos or pvs!

However, what Back-on have done is to package everything into an .exe file so if you viewed the CD content itself, all you see is:

Content of flower single disc

So what does the interface look like? :) The background is literally Back-on’s flower single cover, then on the top left of the screen is a video player with orange control buttons along the bottom. To the right is first Back-on’s new logo (in orange) followed by the text flower, BLAZE LINE and a day dreaming… directly below it. These are clickable, so you would click on them to choose the video.

Having said all that, it’s probably better to show a screenshot, since a picture *is* worth a thousand words, so have a look at the thumbnail of the screenshot below!

Revealed: Hayase Erina - the actress in the flower PV!

The Back-on Messageboard hasn’t been updated in awhile, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that a message (#237) has been posted about the actress in Back-on’s flower pv! *drumroll* The lucky lady’s name is:

早瀬英里奈 (Hayase Erina)

A quick googling returns a number of references, including the fantastic Wiki@d-addicts, which shows that Hayase Erina is quite an up-and-coming actress, especially in jdoramas! You can see a picture of her below, courtesy of her agent - Stardust Promotion - with some details from her profile:

Watch the flower PV in full on Youtube!

Just when (I) we thought that the Myspace preview of the flower PV was the best thing we were going to get for the week, it turns out that blueblueblue has yet again surprised us by uploading the full version of the PV on Youtube! Thank you! This latest news comes courtesy of Sound EX via this forum thread, and Back-on have yet again gone in a new direction from their previous work, where the band enter a (rather nice) room with modern decor that has extremely rich colours - particularly dominated by the red sofa - and perform flower.

It isn’t all singing and playing - Back-on eat snacks prepared (by a very lucky lady) and have a little fun as a group too, so it’s quite an interesting video to watch, especially if you’re enjoying the music as well!

You can watch the video by clicking on this direct link, or scrolling further to watch it directly on BOO! Why not let us know what you think too in the comments section? :)

Update 28/12/2007: Thanks to TELO for letting us know about the video going offline! We have now updated the link with the same PV that has kindly been uploaded by dualimaen.

Preview of flower PV on Back-on’s Myspace!

The video preview of the the flower PV was actually released last week (around the same time as the music clip I believe) but alas, I managed to completely blank it, so gomenasai for not including it in the previous news post! >_< Without further ado, you can click to visit Back-on’s Myspace for the preview clip, or watch it below on BOO! Please let us know what you think! :)

p/s: I ask this, because not only do we get to see Teeda’s new hairstyle, this is also perhaps the first time that there has been an acting 3rd party (girl, in this case) in one of Back-on’s music videos! Who is the lucky person, and how come it isn’t *cough* umm, seriously though, what does it take to be the lucky girl!?

Answers on a back of a postcard (or comment section) please! :)

Watch a clip of the BLAZE LINE pv on Back-on’s Myspace!

It’s out! :D I love what we can see so far, as the music video appears to be Back-on’s performance of BLAZE LINE at Anime Matsuri! We get to see shots of all the members, especially Kenji03 in this clip, as well as a close up of the audience!

You can watch it by going straight to Back-on’s Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/backonjapan! Alternatively, you can also watch it below:

Work in progress : Band Discography and History

It seems updating the Music page actually kick-started me into adding more significant information to the site itself (or it could be that I’m procrastinating from revision… but let’s go with the first one :p) so anyway, the major changes are:

  • Discography - New sections for Demos and Compilations/Collaborations have been added in to incorporate information about the other music that Back-on has worked on. This includes some brief info about their first demo (which sold for ¥100 at the time) as well as some of the earlier cd releases, which were only available on the night at the venue of their performance.

To give a quick run-down of some titles in this new update: Luv Graffiti 2, MONSTERS ROCK VOL.1 & 2, OPTION presents STREAM Z J-LOUD EDITION and STOP AIDS CLUB MOVEMENT. Most of the songs found on these compilations can actually be found in the tracklisting of their later releases.

However, the complete list isn’t finalised yet because it turned out having over 20 (Firefox) tabs open to view and verify information was surprisingly mentally tiring. So you’ll have to forgive me… ^^; On another note, it seems that Back-on may have created more PVs than previously thought, but it’s something I haven’t yet investigated fully yet so…

  • History - The update made to this page is actually less complete than Discography, but features a brand new sub-section called Time-Line, which I should re-iterate is a work-in-progress.

Did you know that (apparently) Back-on were called Garden before they were named by Jesse of RIZE?

I learnt something new today anyway ;) This was (apparently) back in 2000, before the ‘official’ year/month of Back-on’s ‘formation’ (which is September 2002 for the record and what every Back-on fan should know for their pub-quiz!)

The other new sub-section is Artists, which will probably be moved to it’s own page in the future, but when writing out the time-line, it was quite useful to also compile a list of websites of artists that were somehow related to Back-on through their collaboration on albums.

As usual I promise new updates (when I can) but I have to admit the Lyrics section will probably be less of a priority at the moment, so hope you all don’t mind too much! If there is some huge objection (or pro-lyrics movement) then feel free to let me know via the comments box. I am easily swayed open to all sorts of opinions! :D

Oh and before the end, you may have noticed that we now have a count-down counter on the topright of the page (under Search) indicating the time till the official release of BLAZE LINE/a day dreaming… Only a day or two now, so ganbatte!
