BACK-ON confirms release of second full-length album (and DVD) “Hello World” on 16th February 2011!

It’s official! BACK-ON announced the full details of their second full-length album Hello World today on their official website, which included images of both cover designs of the two different editions!

The DVD version is on the left (with members of the band) and the CD version is on the right:

BACK-ON Hello World (DVD) CD Cover BACK-ON Hello World (CD) CD Cover

The album will feature 12 songs in total, of which 7 (yes, 7!) are brand new! What this means is that we have never seen them on any other BACK-ON single, album or compilation releases to date, and the tracklisting is below:

  1. Beginning
  2. ROCKSTAR ANTHEM
  3. with you feat.Me
  4. Apologize
  5. twenty four / 7
  6. TELL ME
  7. flyaway
  8. HERO
  9. Tomorrow never knows -album ver.-
  10. We are…
  11. ONE STEP! feat.mini
  12. hare days

I love the names of the new songs so far, and according to TEEDA’S blog entry (which mentions that he really likes the first two tracks called “Beginning” and “ROCKSTAR ANTHEM”) the album is BACK-ON way of saying a huge ‘hello’ to the world!

The band DO want to do a world tour, which they are kick-starting in Japan, as they have already released dates for their “Hello World” tour around Japan and there may already be plans for America!

The CD version will retail at ¥ 2,500, but the DVD version will cost ¥ 3,200. For the extra ¥ 700, the album will come with a special DVD with lots of videos:

  • with you feat.Me
  • TELL ME
  • ONE STEP! feat.mini
  • flyaway
  • Sands of Time
  • flower
  • BLAZE LINE
  • a day dreaming…
  • BAReeeeeeeeeeN/足跡
  • Anime Matsuri 2010 in TEXAS Documentary

Are you excited? I know I am! It’s hard to believe this is only their second ever full-length album (as we know, BACK-ON do love releasing singles) but the real bonus for fans imho is that we get 7 new and unique songs on this one massive compilation, not to mention the lure of the DVD of high quality videos (name dropping Sesshy here).

For international fans, you can already pre-order the DVD (and/or CD) version on online retail websites such as those listed below and we have also listed the prices for the DVD version for your reference (correct at time of this post) excluding shipping:

‘Vein’ featuring Hero, 冠, ANIMAL-K,T2LOW – PV from ‘House of Punk’

As promised in the last post about House of Punk, today’s post focuses on a PV video of one of the tracks from the collaboration album! Alas, it’s not the song featuring Teeda, but I really do like it, and I hope you’ll agree that it is definitely a track worth introducing after you read the introduction and watch the video! :)

The song, Vein, features Hero (Dogma) as the vocalist (and MC), (The Kanmuri) as the main MC, and T2LOW(Skunkrice, LD69PX) as the ‘Track maker’. Animal-K is also credited for (I believe) his role as the Producer. If you’re interested in learning more about all the artists working on the album, you can visit Loud69Punx’s Myspace for a detailed list of credits!

Moving on to the track Vein itself, I just have to reiterate that I love it.

New design for Back-on.com – Back-on’s Official Website!

It’s been a while since the website design for Back-on.com was updated, but today, it underwent a revamp, and the new design is definitely a breath of fresh air!

With thanks to Koutarou for the news – although the fundamental content layout hasn’t changed (which is good for frequent visitors) the new look is definitely a much easier read, (with larger font – dark on a light background) and navigation is also very straightforward, without having to rely on e.g. Flash as before.

It’s not quite “Web 2.0“, which is just as well because it doesn’t need to be, and I love it! It’s clean and intuitive! You can see a screenshot of the new site below:

New Back-on.com

The main header is a photo taken for their promotion of BLAZE LINE/a day dreaming… (which is due out tomorrow!) and you can see the original photo below, available from their blog:

Back-on Promotional

Unfortunately it turns out I hadn’t actually taken a screenshot of the previous version (with it’s classic red brick background) but hopefully a screenshot of the first, second and third versions of Back-on.com will make up a little for this oversight!

Back-on.com - Version 1
Version 1 | December 2004 without images (promoting Adachi Tribe)

Back-on.com - Version 2
Version 2| August 2005 promoting Hero

Back-on.com - Version 3
Version 3 | December 2005 with ‘Mokkun‘ flash

What do you think of the new site? :D Please let us know!

Watch Kodou PV as well as a clip of Back-on’s live performance!

We haven’t posted updates regarding Back-on Youtube content for a long while (its mainly been about e.g. Murder Princess OVA), but the list included MVs for New World, Gaku-Ten and Flydom. Today, I came across some brand new videos uploaded by the one-and-only blueblueblue. I can only hazard a guess that this user is from Japan but he/she comes up with the most unique Back-on clips!
