Download the TV size version of Sands of Time as an mp3!

With thanks to XrayMind from the D-Addicts Forum, we’ve been able to get hold of a good quality raw video of the first ever episode of ケータイ捜査官7 (Keitai Sousakan 7)! We haven’t watched it yet (but the start and end do look promising!) but we have done an audio rip/transcode of the last minute of the file; which, of course is the ending sequence featuring Sands of Time!

The mp3 is encoded at 320kbps (as usual) using MediaCoder. Hope you all enjoy listening to the song!

About this entry

New song – flower – Live video from Formoz 2007 and new ED for Eyeshield 21!

It’s been known for quite some time that flower would the new ED for Eyeshield 21, and I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that the new ending has finally been released! :) The new ending sequence was first aired at the end of Episode 116 on August 1st 2007, and you can now watch it on Youtube courtesy of gangangan03!

I personally love this new ending theme, and the artwork is impeccable as usual, but in case you weren’t satisfied with this short version, gangangan03 has just uploaded a video of Back-on performing flower LIVE at Formoz Festival 2007!

The song is very chilled out (similar to the previous ED by Back-ona day dreaming…) but in my humble opinion, this song is so much more balanced, with a strong verse and chorus, and the band have actually used a violin in the background as the underlying theme (that almost always means bonus points from me :p) but as always,  it would be interesting to hear what everyone else thinks though!

As usual, you can watch both videos by clicking on the relevant links above, or you can watch it on BOO below! Please do let us know your thoughts about the new song!

Back-on’s TV Size mp3s for Air Gear, Murder Princess and Eyeshield 21

I read somewhere that it’s good for sites to do summary posts sometimes, and although I’ve been tempted to try it several times, it’s taken me a while to think of a good summary theme to post about!

This is actually sort of in-conjunction with Sowon‘s Back-on Music Competition on the Forums, where each time, participants have to sing one particular song (TV size version) from Back-on‘s repetoire. (Please consider entering the competition, minna! :D) Usually, it does help to ‘record’ with the song in question playing in the background, which brings me to the main topic:

where can I find TV size mp3s of Back-on‘s songs?

It would probably be helpful to first provide a list of the songs, so without further ado in the order of Anime Title | Type | Song Title :

Anime Title Type Song Title
Air Gear OP Chain
Murder Princess (OVA) OP ヒカリサスホウ Hikari Sasuhou (FK Metal ver.)
Eyeshield 21 OP BLAZE LINE
Eyeshield 21 ED a day dreaming…

Aside from Chain, most of the mp3s are available for download somewhere on Back-on Online, and since this is a summary post, you can find the direct-links to the posts in question below:

But where can you find Chain? This only happens to be one of the most popular Back-on songs ever. The answer is simple: visit Japtard.com. Or more specifically,

view the post Air Gear OST – What a Groovy Trick!

You can the entire OST available for download (at 320kbps) – either as a zip file, or individual mp3 files. Chain (TV Size) is the first song on the 34-track album. The download has kindly been provided by Frox, who has credited Nipponsei for the original release.

Hopefully this post will be helpful to those searching for ‘that’ opening/ending theme by Back-on. Almost every single one so far also has their corresponding lyrics posted on the site somewhere, so take a look at the Lyrics section if you’re interested, particularly if you’d like to participate in the competition!

Murder Princess OAV OST due out on June 27th 2007!

The original news came courtesy of Sowon a little while ago, and there are now only 2 more days until the release of the Murder Princess OST!

Murder Princess OST Cover (HMV.co.jp)

If you’re wondering why this is so significant, this is Back-on wrote/performed the OP, which is a variation of their own release ヒカリサスホウ (Hikari Sasuhou). The released track is undeniably one of Back-on‘s most popular songs, and the new variation is known as

ヒカリサスホウ Hikari Sasuhou (fk Metal ver.)

The OST (AVCA26256) is set to retail at ¥3059, and will feature 43 tracks, most of which will be the anime’s BGM. Unfortunately (as with most anime OSTs) the CD will only feature the TV size versions of both the OP and the ED.

The ED, Naked Flower, is sung by Romi Paku (who voices Alita Forland, the main character) and the full version is already available on CD.

Alas to-date, Back-on have yet to release a full version of ヒカリサスホウ Hikari Sasuhou (fk Metal ver.), which has slightly different lyrics to their album version. The closest release that we’ve been able to find was actually from a compilation album Survive, and you can find out more information about it in the First Glance: ‘Survive’ compilation post. We’ve decided to christen it as the

ヒカリサスホウ Hikari Sasuhou (Survive ver.)

which BOO provided for visitors to download last week. In case you want to listen to the fk Metal ver. before June 27th 2007, you can download a video-rip of the song courtesy of Yakhobian, which you can find here.

We will be providing an OST mp3 of the of ヒカリサスホウ Hikari Sasuhou (fk Metal ver.) in a few days courtesy of Nipponsei, so please watch this space! :)

p/s: Murder Princess OAV Volume 4 is also released on DVD on the same day!

BLAZE LINE/a day dreaming… news – single cover released and the title of the third song!

Back-on have released the CD single cover for BLAZE LINE/a day dreaming…! It appears to be inspired by Eyeshield 21 as it features a picture of an American Football player(s) on the field, which is understandable considering two of the three songs are currently known to feature in the anime as the opening (OP) and ending (ED) theme!

BLAZE LINE/A day dreaming... single cover

I really love the single cover (gorgeous colours and such an appropriately themed design!) – although I do wonder who’s back we’re looking at? I’m fairly sure it’s not Gori as he doesn’t appear to have tattoos on his arms (see picture from the KERA inteview) The most likely candidate is TEEDA (who’s arm I think is found on the cover of Chain… hmm I say the weirdest things) and the best example I can find to support my hypothesis is a screenshot from the New World MV of Teeda‘s back.

Back of Teeda from New World MV... tattoo!

I could use another picture to demonstrate the tattoo at the front of his right arm, but even I think that’s going a bit overboard, wouldn’t you agree? :p

And equally important piece of news is that Back-on have also released the title of the third song on the single, called EYES. So the tracklisting of the entire single is as follows:

  1. BLAZE LINE
  2. a day dreaming…
  3. EYES

I wouldn’t be surprised if EYES were to feature at a later date in Eyeshield 21. If you didn’t already know it, you can already watch and download the mp3 for the TV-size version of a day dreaming…, which was released on April 11th 2007 as the new ED. BLAZE LINE (TV-size) is due out as the new OP from May 2nd 2007, Episode 104: 一つ欠けたライン (Missing a line), and the single itself will be out on June 6th 2007.

JAPANESE (Kanji)

[Verse]
例えばそばにいるキミが
何かで崩れそうになったら
何も言わずに僕が
そっと手を差し伸べるだろう
この空の下で起こる奇跡を
ずっと看つめていたい

[Interlude]
The sunlight comin’ through a window
まだチョットズレ気味のピント
I don’t want to wake up
まだ少し夢見てたいから
(And) even though I really love this moment 俺にとって
You seem to be a sleepin’ mermaid 指先まで
Stay with me 照れ笑い浮かべ
ただそばにいたいだけ

[Chorus]
ありふれた言葉でしか
今わ言えないけど
ありのままの その全てが
僕の心を包む
流れゆく時の中で
どんな未来が見える?
いつだって僕たちは
希望で描く明日を信じて

Download the ED version of A day dreaming… and torrent file for Eyeshield 21 Episode 101

With thanks to the anime group [S^M] (I haven’t been able to find their website) we’ve just been able to get hold of Eyeshield 21, Episode 101 RAW, featuring Back-on‘s A day dreaming… as the ending theme.

My first impression of the song is that it is indeed mellow and very chilled out. Definitely a summer tune suitable for roadtripping! Those expecting a New World, Chain or Hikari Sasuhou from A day dreaming…will instead be pleasantly surprised to find that the song is more similar to ~feel~ from Baby Rock, or そのままで (Sono mama de) from Adachi Tribe. The ED is only 1:15 min in length but I would be interested in finding out what you all think about the new song?
