So I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new PC - one that is more than powerful enough to run good recording software.

I'm not particularly experienced with computer recording, and back in the day I used a tascam 8 track with a boss Dr. Rythm for bass and drum tracks.

I'm a hard rock/fusion guitarist and I just want to be able to record quality, finished tracks with full bass and drums. So, I'm looking at Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4, which seems to have everything I need, and also buying a Line 6 POD X3 to run my axe thru.

I'm just curious if anyone with more experience can tell me if this looks like a good set-up, or suggest others. I'm also wondering how you use the bass and drum backing tracks - with the Boss you just physically hit the pads to create drum and bass parts, and I'm wondering how it's done with this kind of software.

If anyone can give me some tips and advice I'd appreciate it. I already checked out the newbie recording sticky. Thanks....

Im John Leigh, Director of Anime Matsuri in Houston, TX.

I hope to be part of this community and enjoy all your friendship. As you guys know BACK-ON will be performing live in a spectacular concert. I just got back from Japan and attended one of their rehearsals (that stuff was nuts to say the least).
This is the second time we're collaborating with them for a live show at Anime Matsuri. Till this day, Anime Matsuri 2007 is their most memorable concert on US soil. For 2010, we want to draw thousands to support and enjoy what they have been practicing for months for.

PLEASE help us spread the word everywhere. You guys are also welcome to have a panel/meetup at AM. The convention will support you guys and maybe have a couple of surprises for you just for helping out. if you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to ask me!

Of the 20 listed, Back On is the only Japanese band to make the list. The rest are from the United States. Though I was reading some of the comments, they got a couple of detractors there. But its sweet that they made the list. Back On must of left a real impression on the compilator.
