Discussion thread for the (old but) classic anime:
Gensomaden Saiyuki! This is not the 'reloaded' version, but the one that can be found at
http://gmsaiyuki.blogspot.com/ (youtube videos) and Veoh (post 20 something)
It's essentially a new 'take' on the classic "Journey to the West" story but this time, they've made all the characters uber-bishounen (except for Goku) and with depth. Alas it is a little dated, so the graphics are a bit old (except for certain scenes) and the action scenes aren't great, but it's VERY addicting! Currently on episode 13, and there's another 30 ish to go I believe!

hehe... ok let us discuss the characters one by one.. ok first is Cho Hakkai.. what can you say about him?

Cho Hakkai. He's definitely one of the coolest along side Sanzo
Although I seem to notice that his hair/fringe seems to go in different directions. He can seem so mild but so ice-cool at the same time! I really like his Youryoku (Is that how you spell it?) limiter though, it makes him look awesome.
What do you think?
youryoku, yes it is.. it limits their powers and their original form.
he's the calm one in the group, although sanzo seems to be but he easily gets angry especially when those two, gojyo and goku, keep on fighting, he would shoot a bullet in the air to stop them.
have you ever observed that mostly characters with his hairstyle have a mysterious, cool, and calm personality?
^What an observation! I never noticed! But thinking back at all the anime characters w/ a similar short, choppy hairstyle, it seems true!
So we're discussing the characters one by one? Okay, with Cho Hakkai...well he's my favorite. I really like how he's the nice & helpful one, but he's not a tree-hugger! He only uses his power when its' needed. I like his english voice dub in the original one (not in the "Reload" or "Gunlock" one)!
woot! saiyuki! i actually watched the whole series. it was close to 50 episodes methinks... i've seen a bit of reload but eh... yeah, i dont like the dubbed. ok, since we're talking about hakkai, i might as well voice my opinion. aside from goujo, he's my favorite. well actually i like them all but hakkai definitely is the motherly one out of the group. very calm and collective. i also like his limiter! it looks good on him. i thought that one episode with him showing his true form was soo badass! gahhh! that episode was pure awesomeness!

And I'm not even a third of the way through it! I definitely agree with Faust about Sanzo, because he does get annoyed so easily compared to Hakkai, who is just Mr. Chill really ^^ Still haven't seen his 'badass' true form though (Darn, am so looking forward to it now, ichi!) but does that mean he doesn't have the kick-ass limiter on anymore? (duh.. what a stupid question
)

well hakkai just took it off for that time. he puts it back afterwards... well they force it back on him xD u dont get to see him fighting tho... just his shadow >___< then the door closes
I LOVE this anime. It's hilarious, especially the scene where Goku and Gojyo are in the back of the jeep.
